Gastroenterology is the study of the stomach and intestines and their functions. A gastroenterologist specializes in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases of the stomach and intestine.
Hepatology is the study of the liver and its functions. A hepatologist specializes in diseases of the liver.
