Dr. Patrick Carroll is a board certified adolescent medicine physician with special interests in treating adolescents and young adults with ADD/ADHD, behavioral health conditions and diabetes care, as well as sports injuries including concussions. He is a certified consultant for ImPACT™ (Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing) concussion evaluation system.

He comes to Granite Medical Group from the Northern Navajo Medical Center in Shiprock, New Mexico where he served as Director of Adolescent Medicine from 2009 to 2011. He was responsible for coordinating the care of 15,000 teens and young adults on the Navajo reservation. He established 19 School Based Health Clinics and served as team physician for two of the local high schools. He worked extensively in health risk screening and treating students who were at risk for depression and substance abuse issues. He was awarded the Navajo Area Director’s Award for his work in establishing the adolescent health network.

Prior to his two years of work with the Navajo Area Indian Health Service he served from 2002-2008 as fulltime Medical Director at St. Paul’s School in Concord, NH. In this capacity he was responsible for all aspects of medical and psychological care for 525 boarding students. He developed the health education curriculum and oversaw 12  providers at the school's health center. He worked closely with students with health issues including ADD/ADHD, depression, eating disorders and sports medicine.

Since 2002 as a team physician at St. Paul’s School and in the Navajo Area Dr Carroll has treated student athletes with mild traumatic brain injury using the ImPACT concussion program. He is certified in ImPACT testing and interpretation while following over 300 students with post concussion syndrome.

Dr Carroll graduated from Dartmouth Medical School and is board certified in both Adolescent Medicine and Family Medicine. He completed his internship at Lancaster General Hospital in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and residency at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, Connecticut.

Patrick Carroll, MD joined Granite Medical as Chief Medical Officer in August 2011. He is a Duxbury, Massachusetts native who returned to the South Shore in 2011 with his wife Kathleen and three children Ryan, Hillary and Erin. During his free time Dr. Carroll and his wife Kathy enjoy mountain biking, skiing and running.
