Attention Quincy Medical Center Employees
Granite Medical Group was informed on August 3 by Steward Health Care Network and Quincy Medical Center that Granite would be excluded from the Steward Employee Choice EPO Plan effective September 1, 2012. Granite Medical Group providers have provided care to employees of Quincy Medical Center for more than thirty years and we are deeply disappointed in Steward’s unilateral decision to terminate the doctor-patient relationship for many QMC employees.
If you are an EPO member, Steward and QMC are requiring you to select a new PCP from within the Steward network. Granite Medical is dedicated to providing excellent care and service to our patients and we will make every effort to ensure that your medical information is transferred to your new care provider upon your request. We want to minimize the change Steward’s decision will have on the quality and continuity of your healthcare.
If you are enrolled in the Steward Employee Health program, under the terms of your health insurance, you may be able to continue to receive care from a Granite primary care provider but it’s important that you contact your insurance carrier and/or your company Human Resources representative to understand the financial impact of receiving care from a physician outside the Steward network.
We welcome the opportunity to continue as your care provider but understand that you may be required to make a change. We thank you for entrusting us with your care.
