Our New Chief Medical Officer and Quality of Care
 Welcome to Dr. Patrick Carroll, our new Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Carroll is a Family Practice physician with experience in adolescent medicine. Dr. Carroll grew up in Duxbury and attended Dartmouth Medical School.
As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Carroll will be focused on measuring and assuring the quality of care delivered by all care providers at Granite Medical. There is so much attention today on health care costs that it's good to know Granite Medical's Chief Medical Officer is focused on quality as well.
How Quality of Care is Measured
There are certain aspects of care that indicate a higher level of quality. For example, recommending colonoscopies for our patients over 50 helps with early detection of cancer. If a practice routinely orders colonoscopies for this patient group, that is one indicator of a high level of quality care. Why colonoscopies are important.

If a loved one, friend, colleague, or community member mentions they are looking for a primary care provider, feel free to refer them to us.
